At Plan to Eat HQ, we’re transitioning out of Summer and into Autumn. The nights are chilly, but the days are still warm and sunny. We’re heating up the kitchen with soups, stews, and baked goods, but still enjoying recipes on the grill too. It’s hard to let go of Summer, so let’s take a look back at the yummy Summertime recipes from the Plan to Eat blog.

Homemade Fruit Pizza

A sugar cookie crust is layered with cream cheese frosting and then topped with colorful assorted fruits. Using this recipe, you can choose to make one large fruit pizza, three 6-8 inch fruit pizzas, or individual cookie-sized fruit pizzas!

Grilled Chorizo Burgers with Chimichurri Aioli

This recipe is inspired by two popular grilled Argentine dishes – choripán and provoleta. The flavors of fresh chorizo and melty cheese combine with elements of chimichurri for a multi-napkin burger that’s become one of our favorites!

Homemade Hamburger Buns

These hamburger buns are winners! With only a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make these for all of your summer barbecues!

Lemon and Blueberry Gooey Butter Cupcakes

Gooey Butter Cake is a St. Louis, Missouri tradition. It’s usually enjoyed as a coffee cake vs. a dessert cake. In this iteration, we’re sticking with the semi-homemade method, and infusing some summery flavor into a miniature version.

The Magic of No-Recipe Cooking

No recipe cooking is exactly what it sounds like: creating a meal without prescribed quantities of ingredients or carefully outlined steps. It simply starts with an idea, some basic knowledge, and perhaps a willingness to experiment.

No-Recipe Dessert Charcuterie Board

This dessert charcuterie board is the perfect way to pull together all of your favorite treats without turning on the oven or having to use a recipe. Look through your pantry and refrigerator, grab some favorite family treats, and be creative as you put them together to make a showstopper!
