7 Ways to Use Quinoa in Everyday Cooking

Quinoa is quickly gaining popularity as a superfood. Not only is
it high in protein (and a complete protein to boot), it’s also high in fiber,
gluten free and easy to digest!

I’ve mentioned before that I’m somewhat of a kitchen dunce, which makes me hesitant to try new things, but I’ve been bookmarking quinoa recipes as I look for ways to incorporate it into our diet.

You’ll notice something about all of these recipes — they each contain a relatively few number of ingredients. Because I’m not the best cook (and because I’m married to a picky eater!), these are the kind of recipes I am drawn to because I’m much more likely to cook from scratch if I’m not overwhelmed by the list of ingredients!

1. Quinoa Tart with Baby Zucchini & Sun Dried Tomatoes Dressing

This sounds delicious just from the description, but the pictures make it look absolutely divine — a perfect summer side.

2. Carrot-Quinoa Cakes

I like pretty much any kind of fried cakes and pretty much anything made with cooked carrots, so I’m pretty sure this will become a favorite side dish!

3. Quinoa-Stuffed Zucchini Boats

These look like another fun side dish to encourage kids to try both zucchini and quinoa!

4. Quinoa Parfait

Although most quinoa recipes seem to be for salads and side dishes, I’m really drawn to it as an oat & granola replacement. We love parfaits, and this looks like a great alternative!

5. Sweet and Salty Toasted Quinoa

I was sold at “sweet and salty”. Need I say more?

6. Warm and Nutty Cinnamon Quinoa Recipe

I can’t wait to add this to our warm cereal rotation!

7. Super Easy Quinoa cookies

Yep, that’s right — you can even make cookies with it!

Do you use quinoa in your everyday cooking? What’s your favorite recipe?
