We’ve been busy in the kitchen (the coding kitchen) making Plan to Eat more helpful and functional for you. This past year, our team created some highly requested features and smart improvements designed to save you time, reduce mealtime stress, and make planning feel less like a chore.

Here’s what’s new:

Save recipes in seconds

  • Social Media Importing: Find a recipe while scrolling Instagram or TikTok? Now you can save it to Plan to Eat and actually make it.
  • Photo Scanning: Snap a picture of a recipe card or cookbook page, and we’ll turn it into a digital recipe for you. No more typing in recipes by hand!
  • Recipe Clipper Extension: A new-and-improved way to clip recipes from any major browser. The side panel stays open so you can add multiple recipes back-to-back.

Plan with more flexibility

  • Planner Search: Quickly find recipes you’ve planned before to see how often you’re making recipes, and what you’ve served them with in the past.
  • Bulk Editing on the App Planner: Move, copy, or update serving sizes for multiple meals at once and save your favorite meal plans to reuse again and again.
  • Flexible Prep Notes: Rename, reschedule, or delete prep notes like “chop onions” or “defrost chicken”, so they match your schedule each week.
  • Custom Times for Sharing to Calendars: When you share your meal plan with another calendar, you can now set custom times for your recipes.

Get the help you need, instantly

  • AI Ingredient Suggestions: Get instant ingredient substitutions for allergens, dietary needs, or whatever’s missing from your pantry.
  • AI Beginner Mode: Rewrite recipe directions to make your recipes more beginner-friendly!
  • AI Help Widget: Need a quick answer? Our new chatbot can guide you right inside the program. Prefer a human? Our support team and help articles are still one click away.

All these updates are designed to make meal planning more flexible and less time-consuming, so you can spend less energy planning and more time enjoying meals.

Thanks for supporting Plan to Eat for another year and helping us make the best meal planning software available!
